The Kaukauna Area School District offers two public charter schools: New Directions Learning Community and Park Community Charter School.
New Directions Learning Community (NDLC) serves students from 4K through 4th grade and is anchored in research-based best educational practices in all curricular areas. In our supportive community, students receive individualized instruction to help them grow as readers, writers and problem solvers to become better citizens for our global world. We utilize the Readers' and Writers' Workshop curriculum/methodology developed by Columbia University.
Park Community Charter School is a place-based charter school where our curriculum ties directly into the community. In Science and Social Studies, instruction is delivered through strong community partners, such as Kaukauna Utilities, the Grignon Mansion and 1000 Islands Environmental Center. Students at each grade level participate in field studies connected to our community partners.
