Attention Juniors who are planning on applying to FVTC or NWTC in the fall, please be aware that several programs open their application window starting June 1st.  There are a limited number of seats and several programs will close quickly.  Please stop in Student Services if you have questions or need help applying.

 

Students preparing for 2022-23 Youth Apprenticeship should see Mr Lawrence to apply or get assistance in finding a job.   Currently there are open jobs in Machining, welding, manufacturing,  health care and diesel/auto repair   If you attended job fair you saw that there are many employers looking to hire.   Students may start in June or in the fall but even if you have YA/CO-OP on your schedule you will be dropped in Sept if you have not been employed by week 1 of the new school  year.  email or see Mr Lawrence F104

 

Attention Seniors:  The Horatio Alger Career & Technical scholarship program has up to $2500 scholarships available to students that plan to pursue career and technical education in a 2 year or less degree or certificate that will lead to employment.  You must demonstrate financial need and applicants must be Pell Grant eligible.  Stop in Student Services for more information.

 

The Heartland Business Systems scholarship of $1000 just arrived in Student Services to students with an intended major in the IT field at an accredited 2 or 4 year school.  Deadline is June 1.  Stop in today to pick up your application.

 

There is a $1000 Live Your Dreams Scholarship just posted in Xello for the online application.  All fields of study are eligible.  You must submit a 300-500 word essay answering, "What are your career aspirations and what would it mean to you to win this scholarship?"

 

Attention seniors! Please check your email for a link to the final voting for Senior Superlatives. It was emailed to you this morning. Votes will be counted Wednesday during FLEX, so make sure to get your votes in ASAP. 

 

Attention current Freshman & Sophomores:  The Regional Center for Math & Science (RCMS) at UW-Green is looking for students to join the Upward Bound program that serves low income, first generation college bound students.  While the program tends to have a health sciences career focus, all students are welcome.  This is a great opportunity to go on field trips, college visits and take classes from college professors while staying on campus at no cost to you.  See your counselor for more information if you are interested.

Attention KHS - What are your Sources of Strength?  What helps you and your mental health?  Are you physically active?  Do you have a source of spirituality in your life?  Do you show generosity to others?  Is your family a support system for you?  Do you have strong connections with positive friends and mentors that have helped you be successful this year?  Sources of Strength would like to invite you to publicly acknowledge your positive friends and mentors THIS WEEK during lunches and the Breaking Boundaries triathlon.  Stop by the giant butterfly in the commons to choose a small butterfly,  write the name or names of friends/mentors that have made a positive impact on your life, and add it to the mural.
