Congratulations to Athena Xiong for taking 1st place on floor last night with an 8.5 score. This is her highest score to date on any event!!! She also took 3rd place on beam with a 7.15, 4th place on bars with a 5.675 and 4th place on vault with a 7.95. She rounded out the night taking 3rd place with an all around score of 29.275.  Way to rock it last night girl!!!!

 

Congratulations also goes out to Alli Resch for taking 5th place on vault with a 7.8.

 

And finally, congratulations to Jada Schiedermayer for taking 3rd place on bars with a 6.225.

Attention Seniors that plan to attend a Technical College:  The Elk's Technical Scholarship application  is now available in Student Services.  This scholarship is worth $1,000.  Deadline to apply is April 1.

 

NWTC is holding Preview Day on Friday, Feb 3 from 10:00 - 11:30am and Explore College of Business on Friday, Feb 10 from 9:30am - noon.  Registration is open for both events!  Register at www.nwtc.edu/Preview Day or www.nwtc.edu/ExploreBusiness. Stop in Student Services for more information.

 

Attention Seniors:  The Vietnam Veterans of America Appleton Area Chapter 351 is offering (4) $1500 scholarships to graduating seniors that write an original narrative essay based on your interview with any US military veteran of any branch of services during Jan 1959-May 1975.

 

Another scholarship application from the United Veterinary Service is offering $1000 to any student in Outagamie County who was enrolled in a supervised animal project in 4-H, FFA or Scouting.  There are no restrictions regarding the area of study the student pursues.   Stop in Student Service to pick up your application today if you are interested!

 

 Blood donors….listen up…..start eating as many foods as you can that contain iron and try to take them with vitamin C. Foods like red meat, fish, poultry, beans, spinach, iron-fortified cereals and even raisins.  

 

Attention Seniors:  Cousins Subs is excited to announce the Driven at Heart Scholarship.  Applicants must have a GPA at or above 3.5, participated in a WIAA sanctioned sport, involved in civic and/or community organizations or activities during your high school career.  (2) $7500 & (2) $2500 scholarships will be awarded. Finalists will be invited to attend the exclusive VIP event hosted by Donald Driver on April 1 in Milwaukee.  Paper copies of the application are available in Student Services and the online application will be available on Feb 1. Deadline is Feb 28.

 

Wisconsin Building Trades Council is offering the Empower Kickoff Event on March 6th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  At this event, you will learn more about being a woman working in the construction and trades industry.  Please stop in Student Services for more information.

 

Winter Ball at KHS.

Date: Saturday, February 11th, 2023

Where: KHS Commons

Time: Doors open at 8 PM and the dance will conclude at 11 PM

Ticket Price: $10

Ticket sales will be in the Commons on Monday, 2/6 and Friday, 2/10 during both lunches and also after school from 3:15 PM until 3:45 PM.

Please note that guest passes are required for any student who does not attend KHS and plans to attend the dance. Passes can be found in the KHS office and are due  no later than Feb. 3rd at the end of the day. (Guests must be 19 and under and no middle school students may attend)

 

The Local Elks Constitution Scholarship Exam will be held on Wednesday, March 1st at 3:30 pm in Room F208.  The exam tests one’s knowledge of the U.S. Constitution. The local winner is eligible to compete for scholarships worth up to $3700 at the state competition in Neenah. The deadline to sign up for the local exam is Friday, February 24th. Please see Mr. Lee in F208 for more details.
