Congratulations to members of the KHS track teams that broke school records this past week! Amber Gerrits broke the 100m hurdles record with at time of 15.25 seconds. Andrew Milhans, Aaron Schmike, Michael Herres and Judah Hammen broke the 4x800m Relay record with at time of 8:01.51

 

The girl's soccer team is doing a penny war through Tuesday, May 9th. Buckets to drop the coins in are located in the library. Coins make the balance go up and bills make the balance go down. The losers will be pied after the game on Tuesday, May 9th. 

 

A rep from Fox Valley Technical College will be in Student Services during FLEX on Monday, May 15.  Sign up in Edficiency if you are interested.

Hello KHS students.

Looking for some fun, relaxation, great conversation and friendship? During Flex there will be a multitude of fun activities planned for May Mental Health.

Some of the activities you have to request are:

 

Outside sidewalk chalking, gaming in the LMC, board games, create gratitude cards, learn to crochet, make snack mix, plant flower seeds to take home, make friendship bracelets, coloring for calm, walking etc.

 

Check out the offerings in Edficiency. You must request the session in order to participate. Also you will earn tickets for each session you join. Tickets will be drawn daily for prizes.

Hopefully, by now you have heard that Sources of Strength, Ghost Crew, and NHS are partnering with the Center for Suicide Awareness to shine a light on Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention. 

 

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we have some great ways everyone can get involved. This week there will be several Flex Time Activities that are designed to promote mental wellness, some of the offerings include: Coloring, card making, outdoor walking, bracelet making, mindfulness jars, and playing games among many more!!  Students who sign up and attend one of these Flex Sessions will be entered into a raffle drawing with tons of cool weekly prizes to win!  

 

As a reminder, we are still accepting art design submissions through May 15th. Your design may be used for t-shirts, posters, and stickers for an upcoming event in September called Strumming the Strings of Hope which will feature Bailey James, a Nashville recording artist.  May 15th.  

 

Students who submit an art design and/or attend a Mental Wellness Activity will be eligible to win awesome prizes in weekly drawings, with a grand prize winner winning a signed guitar from Bailey James!!
