Integrated Framework To Promote Deeper Knowledge Through Relationships and Transfer
To build conceptual knowledge, students must be able to integrate information and transfer concepts across multiple contexts in order to solve problems and to construct new knowledge. Teachers provide explicit instruction and scaffolding to build bridges across instructional settings. Students make meaningful connections across classroom subjects to reinforce and deepen learning. You can see how this works by checking out KASD's Science and Social Studies Connections for Students in Grades K-4.
