Q: Where does Kaukauna Area School District post its job openings?
A: All positions are posted in each District building and on the District’s website. Professional licensed positions are also posted to the State of Wisconsin website and the WECAN website.
Q: How do I obtain an application?
A: Professional teacher applicants, see WECAN for directions. Administrative Assistants, educational assistants, custodian/maintenance, coaches and other positions, applications can be obtained by either downloading an application from our website, contacting the Human Resource Department at 920-766-6100, or sending an e-mail to Holly Parks requesting we mail an application to you. Be sure to include your name, complete address and your telephone number (including area code), in the event that we would need to contact you.
Q: Is it important to have a complete application on file?
A: It is very important to have a complete application on file, so upon review of applications, your qualifications are fully represented. If you already have an application on file, it is important to have it updated yearly.
Q: Do I need to submit my application and information by the closing date identified on the job posting?
A: Yes. It is important that your application be on file by the stated deadline on the website so that your application has time to be processed. Please complete and return it as soon as possible. Once an interview date is established, all qualified candidates’ applications are reviewed, so it is important that your application be on file at that time.
Q: Will calling the building principal, or sending letters of interest to them, assist me in securing a position?
A: No. All applications are processed and retained by the Human Resources Department. Principals review all candidate applications upon the setting of an interview date.
Q: I am a student and not yet certified to teach. Can I still apply for a teaching position?
A: Yes, providing you will be eligible for certification by the Department of Public Instruction prior to the commencement date of the teaching assignment. Since we will not have a copy of your license to determine the area(s) in which you are certified to teach, it is very important that you provide us with your area(s) of certification, including the Wisconsin Educator Licensing Code(s). Your application will not be reviewed if we lack this vital information.
Q: What is your interview process?
A: When we decide on an interview date for any given position, your application, as well as applications received from other qualified and certified candidates, is reviewed. This review is conducted by an interview team, which typically is comprised of the building principal and associated staff. Phone calls are then made to select candidates to schedule an interview.
Note: In order for us to be responsive to your needs, please advise us of any reasonable accommodation(s) you require in order to participate in our interview process.
Q: What happens if I’m offered employment with the District?
A: You will receive a telephone call from the Director of Human Resources or building principal offering you a position pending Board of Education approval. After Board of Education approval, you will be contacted with further information.
Q: What if I have an interview but am not hired. Will I hear from you?
A: Yes. Anyone who is interviewed but not hired receives a phone call or a letter informing them that another person has been hired for that particular position.
Q: What requirements will I need to fulfill if I am being recommended for employment?
A: Your employment with the district is contingent upon the following:
